Token-Efficient Extraction of Text from Screenshots: Where the Research Stands
A survey of three research threads that don't cite each other (general visual token compression, GUI-agent efficiency, and OCR-free document understanding) and the gap between them: nobody has tested whether token-reduction techniques survive contact with exact text/code extraction.
